About the KC Stadium

The KCOM Stadium, also known as the Hull City Stadium, is a multi-purpose facility in England and also the second largest rugby league stadium in England. The stadium hosts various rugby league and football competitions throughout the year, as well as act as a venue for popular musical artists like The Who and Elton John.

The KC Stadium has a capacity of 25,400 and was built at a cost of £44 million. Operated by Stadium Management Company (SMC), the KC Stadium is now officially known as the KCOM Stadium and it is owned by Hull City Council and KCOM.

The stadium has a single-tier asymmetrical bowl that can comfortably seat around 20,000 with a second tier that can seat approximately 5,000. Security of the stadium include 257 CCTV cameras and there is a 40 m2 screen that displays information such as score cards, match highlights, interviews, replays and more.

Managing 34 acres of land, the KC Stadium is located next to a Victorian Park. Its four external columns can be seen from afar, using the colours of the Hull City Council. There is an expansion planned in the near future, increasing the capacity with 30,000. The pitch has automatic under pitch heating and an automatic irrigation system.

There are more than 20 miles of under soil heating pipes with 100 percent natural grass. The grass surface measures 114m x 74m, which provides a full-length rugby field as well as a FIFA standard-sized football pitch. As soon as the soil’s temperature drops below four degrees Celsius, the under soil heating can bring it up to nine degrees Celsius.

In recognition of the funding of the stadium by the Council, a monument was unveiled to recognise the stakeholders involved in the construction. The SMC is committed to maintaining this stadium and it can be seen outside the main West Stand reception.
